Empticon, which has already been awarded the Danish Design Prize and a Red Dot design award, and been nominated to Index: 2007, is among the nominated once more, this time for the 2008 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
 
This Design Award is the official recognition of excellence in design offered by the Federal Republic of Germany and claims to be the prize of prizes.
 
Companies aren’t able to directly enter the Design Award – they must be nominated by the Ministries for Trade and Industry of the German States or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. For this prestigious nomination the product needs to have prevously been awarded either a national or international design prize.
